Your weekend: Farmington Lutheran's Holy Hoot is Saturday


Storytime for all ages

There will be a storytime from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The event will feature stories and activities ideal for mixed-age audiences such as childcare groups and families.


Farmington Lutheran Holy Hoot

Farmington Lutheran Church will hold a faith raising Holy Hoot from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 28. The free event will include food, games, face painting, wagon rides, a baking contest, pumpkin decorating, a chili cook-off and a car and cycle show. There will also be music from the Highview Country Singers, who will lead the 5 p.m. worship service.

MaxaMom Mombie run

Single parents and alternative families with kids 12 and under can participate in a 2.5- or 5-kilometer obstacle course run chased by mombies. The run starts at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at Cow Interrupted Ice Cream Studio in Farmington. Upon completion, participants will get a certificate, prizes from Children’s Theater Company and refreshments provided by Cow Interrupted. For information or to register visit

Afternoon book group

The Dakota County Farmington Library Afternoon Book Group will discuss The Help by Kathryn Stockett from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1. The library is located at 508 Third St. New members are welcome.

Blood drive
