Moms and Neighbors fundraiser

Moms and Neighbors will host its annual fundraiser from 6 to 11 p.m. May 1 at Carbone’s Pizza and Pub, 14550 S. Robert Tr. The event will include a silent auction, raffle, and live music from the band Fu-Ga-We Tribe.

Moms and Neighbors is a local non-profit group that partners with ISD 196 schools to provide unexpected financial gifts to families and teens in need. Learn more at www.momsandneighbors.org.

Bogart and Bacall

The Rosemount Area Arts Council will host the last in its Bogart and Bacall classic movies series with a showing of Key Largo. The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. May 1 in the Rosemount Community Center Banquet Room. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased online at www.rosemountarts.com or at the door.

Artist reception

The Rosemount Area Arts Council will host an artist reception honoring the budding artists of Shannon Park Elementary School from 1 to 2:30 p.m. May 3 at the Robert Trail Library. The students’ art will be exhibited at the library through May. The event is free and open to the public.

Audition for melodrama

As part of the Rosemount Area Arts Council’s second annual Art Blast, which is held the last week of June, The Rosemount Front Porch Players will present another of its popular melodramas. The Front Porch Players will hold open auditions for parts in the melodrama from 4 to 8 p.m. May 3 and from 6 to 9 p.m. May 4.  There are roles available for three men, ages 20-60, and four women, ages 15-60.  Auditions will be at a place yet to be determined.  Check www.rosemountarts.com for the location and more information.  Call Keith at 651-261-1954 with any questions.

Origin of Food

Watch teams of draft horses plow fields, try your hand at milking a cow and inspect farm implements used from the 1920s to the 1960s at Dakota City Heritage Village’s Origin of Food event from 1 to 4 p.m. May 3. There will be a pork chop dinner served starting at 2 p.m. The village is located on the grounds of the Dakota County Fair.

Gloryland Gospel Band

The Gloryland Gospel Band will perform at 3 p.m. May 3 at Faith United Methodist Church, 710 Eighth St. There is no charge for the concert but a free will offering will be accepted.

Steak fry

There will be a steak fry fundraiser for the Farmington High School senior class from 5 to 8 p.m. May 3 at the Farmington VFW, 421 Third St.

RHS band garage sale

The Rosemount High School marching band will hold its annual garage sale fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2in the RHS student center. Anyone interested in donating items can drop them off from 5 to 8 p.m. April 30 or 2:30 to 8 p.m. May 1. Donations prior to May 1 should be dropped off at the collection trailer in the parking lot. On May 1 bring donations to the student center. Large donations will only be accepted May 1 at the student center.
