Farmington's Walton performed in Macy's parade

Pieper Walton, a Farmington High School cheerleader, performed with the Spirit of America Cheer in the 89th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Walton, a senior, is a FHS fall cheerleading captain, member of the National Honor Society, FHS basketball team, jazz band, marching band, symphonic band, Link Leader, and a member of the FHS softball team. She was chosen for the second year in a row from a WOW Sports Factor Cheer Camp this past summer.

The parade returned to march down the streets of New York City on Thursday, Nov. 26. As millions celebrated the holiday with family and friends, more than 8,000 participants, including clowns, balloon handlers and marching bands, traveled through Manhattan. With more than 3.5 million spectators and more than 50 million television viewers nationwide, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the nation’s most celebrated and anticipated holiday treat.

The Spirit of America Cheer and the Spirit of America Dance Stars each will feature 550 of the nation’s best cheerleaders and most thrilling dancers.
