Nitrogen smart training

University of Minnesota Extension will present training to help farmers maximize the return on their nitrogen investment from 9 a.m. to noon March 11 at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center, 4100 220th St. W in Farmington. For information visit z.umn.edu/nitrogensmart.

Open gym

The Rosemount parks and recreation department is offering open gym to all students on non-school days. Open gym will be available on March 11 at the Rosemount Community Center gym at 13885 S. Robert Trail. Kids can stop by for a game of pickup basketball, volleyball, dodgeball or kickball. No registration is required. Elementary school open gym for grades K-5, accompanied by an adult, is from 12:30-2 p.m. Middle and high school open gym for grades 6-12 is from 2-3:30 p.m. For more information call 651-322-6000.

Fish fry

The Church of St. Michael will hold a fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. March 11 in the church social hall, 22120 Denmark Ave. The menu includes Alaskan pollock, potatoes, cole slaw and dinner rolls. Good will offerings will be accepted. Proceeds will go to St. Michael’s charitable causes.

Rosemount American Legion Post 65 will offer a Friday night fish fry from 5 to 9 p.m. March 11 at 14590 Burma Ave. All you can eat fish is $11.95 for adults, $10.95 for seniors, and $7.95 for kids. All meals are served with soup and a salad bar. Other dinner options are available.

Live more, weigh less

There will be a free live more, weigh less workshop from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 12 at Platinum Yoga Studio in Rosemount. Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap

The Rosemount Area Arts Council will present Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap at 7 p.m. March 11, 12 and 13 at the Steeple Center at 14375 S. Robert Trail. Tickets are $14, or $12 for RAAC members. Tickets are available online at www.rosemountarts.com or at the door the night of the event.
