12U bound for State Cup
Finishing the spring season with a chance to play in the State Cup was a highlight and a first time experience for the boys of the 2008 Travel BU12C3 spring soccer team.
The season started off with the team's only loss, giving speculation to their chance to compete in the 12U bracket. With the majority of the players under 12, all knew they would have to work hard to produce a winning team. Tough divisional competition from Albert Lea, Bloomington, Faribault, Hastings, Lakeville, Shakopee and Winona challenged the players and their favorite fans with action packed games.
Head coach Chris Williamson worked continuously throughout the season to strengthen his team. He pressed foot skills, plays and team cohesiveness while encouraging the boys to play a fair and fun game of soccer. This hard work and dedication from every player on the team paid off, with the winning victory at Districts and secured the privilege of playing in the MYSA State Cup.
