Aid available for flood damaged fields

Looking at the dry, yellow stalks of corn in many Dakota County fields, it might be hard to think of the flood waters that stood in many of those same fields early in the 2012 growing season.

But the Minnesota Department of Agriculture remembers those days, and, most likely, so do the farmers who planted those fields. That's why the MDA is accepting applications for flood assistance from agricultural producers in 15 Minnesota counties, including Dakota County.

Michelle Leonard joined the Woodbury Bulletin staff in November, 2014, after 14 years covering news for the Bulletin's sister publication, the Farmington Rosemount Independent Town Pages.  Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications: News-Editorial from Mankato State University in 1991.
