Babe Ruth: Farmington scores first win

After being shut out in its first two games of the season, the Farmington Senior Babe Ruth League baseball team got in the win column with a 6-5 home victory over Lakeville North last Tuesday.

Tyler Knutson paced the offense with two hits and two runs scored.

The decision went to starter Cole Luskey, who held Lakeville North to five runs over the first 6 2/3 innings before Andy Sharratt came on in the seventh to record a one-out save.

Farmington (1-3) saw its offense sputter again on Thursday when it left four runners in scoring position in a 5-3 home loss to Bloomington.

Andy Morris threw a complete game for the hosts, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out six.

The Senior Babe Ruth team is back in action with four games this week. It traveled to first-place Burnsville for a doubleheader on Tuesday and hosts Apple Valley tonight at 6 p.m. before taking another road trip to Faribault on Saturday.
