Ballots are set for township elections
It's that time of year again, when township residents start to think about who they want to represent them on their local board of supervisors.
Elections for township officials will be held Tuesday, March 8. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Castle Rock, the position held by Pete Schaffer is up for election. By early Tuesday, Schaffer and Mike Rademacher had both filed for the three-year term.
There are no additional questions on the ballot. The township's annual meeting will be held on election day, at 8:30 p.m.
Only one position is open on the Empire Township Board of Supervisors -- that held by board chairman Terry Holmes. At press time, Holmes was the only one to file for the three-year term. No additional questions are on this year's ballot.
Two three-year positions are up for election in Eureka Township. Board chair Brian Budenski and Carrie Jennings, who holds supervisor position 2, both have terms that expire in 2011. Both Budenski and Jennings have filed to retain their posts. Jennings is challenged by Pete Storlie, who also filed for supervisor position 2.
The annual meeting will be held at 8:30 p.m., after polls close March 8. No additional questions will be on the election ballot.
