Boys basketball: Tigers take 6-5 record into Missota opener
Farmington Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

The Farmington boys basketball team wrapped up its pre-conference schedule with a record of 6-5 by cruising past North St. Paul 56-42 Saturday night in St. Paul.

Mac Bassett paced the visitors with 17 points. Alex Chadwick added 12 points and a pair of early three-pointers that helped the Tigers build a 29-17 halftime lead.

A slow start cost the Tigers last Tuesday when they made the trip south to take on Owatonna. They scored a season-low 15 points in the first half and saw their late rally fall a point short in a 52-51 setback.

Bassett finished with a game-high 22 points. Eli Rockett chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds and Darren Beenken had six points and eight rebounds.

The Tigers open Missota Conference play with a pair of road games this week. They traveled to Northfield on Tuesday and head to Red Wing tomorrow night to take on the 10th-ranked (Class 3A) Wingers.
