Boys golf: Jensen’s 75 leads Tigers at Fountain Valley

The Farmington boys golf team battled through windy and rainy conditions to place second in the first Missota Conference meet of the season last Wednesday at Fountain Valley Golf Course.

The Tigers turned in a team score of 321, just four strokes off the pace of first-place Chanhassen. New Prague (324) and Shakopee (326) rounded out the top half of the eight-team field.

Jake Jensen led the Tigers with a second-place round of 75. He shot 39 on the front nine and followed that up with a 36 on the back nine.

Darby Grengs followed Jensen with a round of 80. Sam Newcomb shot an 84 and Tyler VanWinkle carded an 84.

Isaac Ferm (85) and Lucas Berg (92) rounded out the varsity lineup.
