Boys lacrosse: Penalties costly against Rockets
Farmington Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

Fifteen penalties were too much to overcome for Farmington in Monday night's 10-3 loss to Rochester John Marshall at Tiger Stadium.

The Rockets scored four goals while playing a man up and ended up pulling away by outscoring the Tigers 8-2 in the second half.

"We have to coach better, play better and learn how to win as a team," Farmington coach Paul Sorensen said. "The first one will be the hardest, so we've got to fight and claw that much more to get that first win."

The Tigers outshot their opponent 24-17, just as they did in last week's season-opening loss to Lakeville South. However, they connected on just three of their attempts.

Quinn Malcolm, Jake Bauman and Trevor Howard each found the net. Goaltender Charlie Weierke played all 48 minutes and made seven saves.

The Tigers (0-2) are back in action tonight at Chaska/Chanhassen.
