Boys soccer: Apple Valley sets state record in season finale

Email

Apple Valley set a state record in Saturday's regular-season finale at Tiger Stadium, defeating Farmington 5-0 for its 41st consecutive victory.

The Eagles (17-0) haven't lost since the 2008 state tournament. They went 24-0 in winning the Class 2A state title last year and closed out the regular season with four second-half goals against the Tigers Saturday.

Stillwater held the previous record with 40 straight wins from 1995-97
