Boys Soccer: Wingers rally from three goals down in 4-3 finale
Farmington Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

Tyler Bystrom's goal with four seconds left was the last of four unanswered goals for Red Wing in come-from-behind 4-3 Missota Conference win over Farmington in sloppy conditions last Tuesday in Red Wing.

The Tigers, whose third straight loss left them at 4-10 for the regular season, led 3-0 midway through the first half thanks to goals from Brandon Scott, Christian Thao and Taylor Wood.

Red Wing responded with its first goal with 12 minutes remaining in the first half, then Bystrom scored a hat trick in the second half to complete the rally.

"The Red Wing game was a tough one," Farmington coach Julian Buss said. "The constant cold rain certainly made the lower 40 degree day feel much cooler....We certainly felt as though an easy victory was coming even though the elements were against us."

The Tigers ended up earning the eighth seed in the nine-team Section 1AA tournament, meaning they had to face Rochester John Marshall Tuesday in a play-in game at Tiger Stadium. The winner took on top-seeded Lakeville South Wednesday night in Lakeville. Results for both of those games will appear in next week's edition of the Independent.
