KCs sell Tootsie Rolls
The St. Croix Council 1762 of the Knights of Columbus is conducting its annual Tootsie Roll Drive April 24-26 for the benefit of people with intellectual disabilities. Each year 75 percent of all donations are distributed to local organizations that provide services to people with these disabilities; 25 percent go to provide statewide support. Last year, Hudson organizations received just under $4,000 from the candy drive. Knights wearing yellow bibs will be at local businesses taking donations and providing a complimentary Tootsie Roll.

Official offers job counseling
Aracely Olguin from the state Regional Job Center will be at the Hudson Library, 911 Fourth St., to provide information and advice on preparing for a job search, developing a resume, writing cover letters and looking for jobs. No appointment is necessary, and conversations with Aracely will be private and confidential. The last session is Monday, April 27, 5-6:30 p.m. If the Hudson walk-in time is not convenient, call Olguin at Job Service, (715) 821 0053, to make an individual appointment.
New Pro-Life group forms
A new pro-life Christian group will hold an organizational meeting Sunday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at St. Croix Valley Cabinetry, 476 County Road A. The group's primary focus will be Bible-based education promoting the sanctity of life. Pro-life supporters are welcome to attend the meeting and for more information, contact Jodi at (651) 271-7063.
4-H garage sale set
The Roberts Ribbon Reapers 4-H club is sponsoring a huge indoor garage sale on Friday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Roberts Park Building. Everything on the sale is donated and will be sold at very reasonable prices. Leftover items are then donated to local organizations. Money raised from the sale will help to build new barns at the St. Croix County Fairgrounds. Donations of clean gently used items will be accepted from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at the Roberts Park Building. HHS student art show is April 30
