Dakota City Heritage Village plans summer events
Farmington Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

Dakota City Heritage Village is opening the doors to many of its buildings for three events this summer.

The events are called Family and Friends Fun Days, and they are meant to be a time for folks to just stop by the village and check things out.

“They’re for anybody who wants to come out and experience life in the 1900s,” said education director Alisa Peterson.

Visitors will also be able to stop in and see several of the buildings. If they want, they are also invited to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in the shade of the village’s many trees.

The first Family and Friends Fun Day will be held June 13, with another scheduled on July 11, and the last set for Aug. 22. The hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with tours of the village scheduled at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon.

Admission for the Friends and Family Fun Days is $5 per person, ages 3 and older. For more information, call the village at 651-460-8050.
