DMS seventh graders finish high in essay contest

Levi P. Dodge Middle School will be well represented in the Dakota County Robert Trail Library Essay Contest with five students finishing with award consideration, all in the seventh grade. The essay contest was held as part of the "One Book, One Rosemount" collaborative community effort to promote and support reading from Sept. 1 to Oct 9.

Students in the seventh grade language arts classes expressed their creativity by answering the essay question What would you put in your memory box and why?

Lori Mulhern's student winners were Jade Tutewohl - 1st place in the Teens 13-17 category, Tarah DeCroock - 3rd place in the Teens 13-17 category, and Devin Beck - 1st place in the Kids 12 and under category.

Kirsten Wallevand's student winners were Cade Huntley - 2nd place in the Teens 13-17 category and Julia Ramthun - Honorable Mention in the Kids 12 and under category.

Students received their awards at an author event and celebration held Oct. 9 at the Steeple Center in Rosemount.
