Doris M. Mazurkiewicz, 80
Doris M. Mazurkiewicz, age 80, of Farmington, passed away Oct. 20.
Born in Hampton, Minn., to Mathias and Katherine Thurmes, Doris graduated from Farmington High School in 1951, where she was a cheerleader.
After graduating, she worked in St. Paul where she met her future husband Donald Mazurkiewicz. They were married at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, in 1953, and moved to Farmington in 1957, where they owned Farmington Lanes for many years. Doris worked for many years as office manager at the Dakota County Tribune, St. Paul Ammonia, and most recently at Rivers Edge Medical Clinic in Farmington.
She enjoyed painting, traveling and being with her family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her infant children, Lisa and Mark; parents: Mathias and Kathryn Thurmes; sister, Viola Byrne; and brother-in-law, Ralph Eilen.
She is survived by her children: Cynthia (Craig) Shirk, Richard, John (Renee), Vicki (Gene) Eldeen, and Patricia; grandchildren: Cole Kracke, Joey (Eric) Pederson, Ryan Shirk, Jill Eldeen, Nicholas Clemmer, Laurie Shirk, Justin Eldeen, Michael Mazurkiewicz, Dylan Millard, Molly Mazurkiewicz, and Lacy Mazurkiewicz; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mildred (Art) Kimmes, Betty Eilen, Mary (Tom) Falls, Mathias "Bud" (Peggy) and Harry (Connie) Thurmes, Patricia (Gery) Dohmen, and David (Pat) Thurmes; also by many other loving relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Thursday, October 24, at St Michael's Catholic Church, Farmington. Visitation from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, at White Funeral Home, 901 3rd St., Farmington, and one hour prior to the Mass at Church. Interment: St. Michael's Cemetery, Farmington.
