Empire entertainment series

Empire Township will hold its summer entertainment series Sunday nights in July and August. On the schedule for Aug. 3 is a visit from the Raptor Center.

Dakota County Fair

August 8 and 9

Farmington High School reunions

The Farmington High School classes of 1963 will hold its 45-year reunion Aug. 8 and 9. All graduates are welcome to the Farmington American Legion at 5 p.m. Aug. 8. On Aug. 9 there will be a catered picnic at 3:30 p.m. at Rambling River Park. Bring your own drink.

August 8-10

Class of 1988 reunion

The Farmingotn High School class of 1988 will hold 20-year reunion events Aug. 8, 9 and 10. There will be an outdoor gathering at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the American Legion. There will be a happy hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Aug. 9 anda class of 1988 day at the Dakota County Fair Aug. 10.

Pancake breakfast

There will be a pancake breakfast fund-raiser for Trinity Care Center from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebees in Lakeville.

The Farmington High School cheerleading team will hold a fund-raiser pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 9 at Applebee's in Rosemount, 15015 Cimarron Ave. Presale tickets also available from any Farmington Cheerleader.

Red Cross blood drive

Empire entertainment series

Empire Township will hold its summer entertainment series Sundays in July and August. Glen Everhart -- the Hebegebee's Family Music Show will perform Aug. 10.

Vacation Bible School

Bible Baptist Church in Farmington will host a free vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Aug. 10-14. The event will include crafts, games, music, snacks and Bible lessons. For more information, go to www.bbcfarmington.org.

There will be a community meal at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at Farmington Lutheran Church, 22120 Akin Road, Farmington. The meal is free but a free will offering is accepted. All are welcome. Motorcycle night

The Farmington Downtown Business Association will host a motorcycle ride-in night from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 16. Third Street will be reserved for motorcycles and there will be food, raffles, contests and musical entertainment. This monthly event will run through September.

Steak fry

There will be a steak fry fund-raiser for Trinity Care Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday Aug. 16 at the Farmington VFW.

August 17

Empire entertainment series

August 22

Carson Winters benefit

There will be a benefit silent auction and concert from 7:30 to close Aug. 22 at the Farmington Eagles Club. Carson was born 12 weeks early in May of 2007. He weighed just two pounds and has since undergone several surgeries. Proceeds from the benefit will help cover the cost of his recovery.

Car show

The Southern Cruzers will hold their annual Summer Spectacular car show, craft fair and swap meet from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Dakota County fairgrounds. For more information visit www.thesummerspectacular.com.

Book club meeting

The Farmington Friends of the Library book club will meet at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the library. The subject of the Aug. 26 meeting is Nothing to do but Stay by Carrie Young.
