Motorcycle night

The Farmington Downtown Business Association will host a motorcycle ride-in night from 5 to 10 p.m. July 12. Third Street will be reserved for motorcycles and there will be food, raffles, contests and musical entertainment. This monthly event will run through September.

July 12-13

Bluegrass in the Village

Dakota City Heritage Village will host its annual Bluegrass weekend July 12, and 13. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the village, located at the Dakota County Fairgrounds, 4008 220th St., in Farmington.

Performers will include Highway 61, Lady Franklin, The Last Known Whereabouts, The Row Buckers, Long Time Gone, Roland Trenary and friends and Timbre Junction. Visitors are encouraged to bring their instruments, such as fiddles, guitars and banjos, to play as they stroll in the village or to jam with other musicians.

King's Kids Camp

Kids in grades 1-2 can attend King's Kids Day Camp July 14-17 at Mount Olivet Retreat Center. Campers participate in four days of activities including Bible stories, crafts, music, nature projects, swimming, worship and games. For registration information call the retreat center at 952-469-2175.

July 16

Ice cream social

Highview Christiania Lutheran Church will hold an old fashioned ice cream social from 5 to 8 p.m. July 16. The event will feature ice cream, games, live entertainment and softball game between Highview and Christiania. The social will take place at the home of Gene and MaryAnn Dietz, 8011 267th St. W in Farmington.

United Methodist Church of Castle Rock will hold an ice cream social and supperette from 5 to 7 p.m. July 16. The event is sponsored by United Methodist Women to raise money for mission projects. The church is located at 27890 Delft Ave.

July 17

Blood drive

Valmont Industries will host a Red Cross blood drive from 12 to 5 p.m. July 17. Valmont is located at 20805 Eaton Ave.

As of July 1, 16-year-olds can donate blood with a signed Red Cross parent/guardian consent form dated no earlier than July 1.

Benefit garage sale

As many as three Farmington garages will be open July 17-19 to raise money for the family of Ian Henderson. Ian, a Burnsville resident, was diagnosed May 23 with an inoperable brain tumor. The sale will be held at 1218 Spruce Street. For information or to donate items call Jennie at 651-460-2610.

King's Kids Camp

Community meal

There will be a community meal at 5:30 p.m. July 24 at Farmington Lutheran Church, 22120 Akin Road, Farmington. The meal is free but a free will offering is accepted. All are welcome. Party on the Knoll

The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department will hold its second annual Party on the Knoll from 1 to 3:30 p.m. July 30 at Evergreen Knoll Park, 626 Heritage Way, next to the municipal pool. The free event will include swimming, music, make-and-take art projects, games and fun for the family. Pancake breakfast

There will be a pancake breakfast fund-raiser for Trinity Care Center from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebees in Lakeville.

The Farmington High School cheerleading team will hold a fund-raiser pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 9 at Applebee's in Rosemount, 15015 Cimarron Ave. Presale tickets also available from any Farmington Cheerleader.
