Farmington police warn of teenager trying to scam money from residents
Farmington police are looking for help in locating a teenager who may be trying to scam residents by claiming to raise money for a school fundraiser.
Just before 4 p.m. Friday, Farmington police posted a message on the city of Farmington's social media sites, warning residents about a potential scam involving a juvenile male. According to the message, the teen is going door to door, claiming to sell cookies for a camp sponsored by Boeckman Middle School.
Boeckman Middle School is not holding any fundraiser of this kind, according to police. Police warn the teen's claims are, in reality, an attempt to scam money from residents.
Police ask that anyone who has seen this individual, or who may have given money to this teen, report the incident to the Farmington Police Department, by dialing 911.
