Farmington only picked up one individual win while dropping a pair of Missota Conference girls tennis matches last week.

Megan Stivers was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles as the Tigers dropped a 6-1 match to Chaska last Thursday. The team also fell to 18-0 Chanhassen 7-0 last Tuesday. The Hawks are ranked ninth in the state.


The Tigers fell to 4-6 overall and 1-4 in Missota Conference duals.

The Tigers won just four points, all by Callie Olmscheid, in four singles losses to the Hawks. The closest doubles match went to Beth Fairchild and Jess Novotny, who lost 3-6, 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.

All four singles matches were tightly contested against Chaska. Ryan Jara lost 4-6, 2-6 at No. 2 singles, Callie Olmscheid was dealt her second loss of the season by a score of 6-7, 3-6 and ShyAnne Spurzem led early before falling 5-7, 2-6.

The doubles teams of Fairchild and Novotny and Tasha Sinha and Molly Rudorfer both won their first sets before dropping a pair of three-setters.
