Farmington woman charged with stealing limo
Farmington Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

A night on the town apparently got a little out of hand last September for a 23-year-old Farmington woman.

Police say Lauren Elissa Mongelluzzo drove away from a Hampton bar shortly after 2 a.m. Sept. 29 in a limousine in which she had previously been a passenger.

According to a complaint filed last week in the Dakota County Attorney’s office, Mongelluzzo was at a bar in Apple Valley that night when she connected with the group of men who had rented the limousine. She went with them to Frank’s Bar in Hampton, but when the men went inside she stayed in the car. The limo driver went in to use the bathroom, and when he came back the car was gone.

The limousine was located nearby with Mongelluzzo still inside. She denied taking the car, but a witness approached Dakota County sheriff’s deputies and told them he’d seen Mongelluzzo drive away.

Mongelluzzo told deputies she’d been drinking vodka tonics that night. A breath test administered at the Dakota County Jail indicated a blood alcohol content of .17, more than twice the legal limit for driving.

If convicted on a felony theft charge, Mongelluzzo could face up to five years in jail and fines of up to $10,000. Two misdemeanor charges for driving while impaired each have a maximum sentence of 90 days and a maximum fine of $1,000.
