Farmington's Lorencz to run, jump at Michigan State
Farmington senior track standout Nadia Lorencz will sign a letter of intent to continue her career at Michigan State University next season.
"I decided on Michigan State because not only do they have very successful athletic programs but on the academic side of things, they are pretty impressive as well," said Lorencz, a Class 2A state champion for the Tigers last year in the long jump and 100 hurdles. "I absolutely loved how diverse the campus was and I also loved that I had so much in common with so many of the people I met while I was there. I know it's a place that will give me many opportunities in the future"
Lorencz made visits to the University of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Utah before choosing the Spartans.
Lorencz was also named Farmington's Athena Award winner last week. Past winners include Taylor Meyer (2012), Devyn Alberts (2011), Sam Jensen (2010), Kirstee Rotty (2009), Rachel Ripley (2008), Erin Johnson (2007) and Kallie Flor (2006).
