"I am excited about the level of knowledge and experience Coach Harrington will bring to our Tigers softball program," Farmington athletic director Jon Summer said. "He has a very strong background as a player, umpire, and coach in the sport of softball. Coach Harrington is a great addition to our Tigers coaching staff and will no doubt have a positive impact on the student-athletes who participate in our softball program."

Harrington was a player coach for the Farmington men's fastpitch softball team that won two state championships, placed second at state six times and made seven national tournament appearances from 1977 to 2001. He was an assistant coach for the St. Louis Park high school softball team for seven years before becoming head coach at Totino-Grace in 2001.

At Totino-Grace, Harrington led the softball team to five conference championships and five state tournament appearances in 11 years.

The Tigers had a record of 24-22 during Laden's two years at the helm.
