Farmington High School will be presenting the one-act play "Stone Hearts," on Friday, Jan. 23.

The script was written by playwright and Guthrie Theater actor Mark Rosenwinkle. It depicts the tale of a family in Bosnia who are dealing with the genocide and wars that took place in the 1990s. The play is based on interviews with families who experienced Bosnia's turmoil.

The cast is led by Sarah Sixl, who starred in last year's FHS one-act play, "Dear Charlotte," and includes what FHS faculty director Rick Halley calls "an all-star cast."

Rosenwinkle is known in the Twin Cities theater community for the musical, "Wellstone," which he also penned. To help the Farmington High School cast capture the essence of his script, Rosenwinkle is working with the group after school on Thursday, Jan. 22.

The cast will then offer its Farmington performance the following evening, at 7 p.m., in the high school auditorium. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door.

The one-act play has already been performed at the University of Minnesota and Shattuck St. Mary's. In addition to the performance at FHS, the cast will also perform at a competition Jan. 24 at Prior Lake High School, and again at sub-sections at Lakeville South High School on Jan. 29. The public is invited to attend either performance.
