FHS will present Porter musical 'Kiss Me, Kate' April 2-4
The Farmington High School drama and music departments will present the Cole Porter musical, "Kiss Me, Kate" Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m., in the high school auditorium.
The comic tale revolves around the production of William Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew." The problem is, the producer, Fred, played by Ryan Joens, and the star, Lily, played by Alysha-Aubrey Bursey, were once married and are forced to work together. But they do not do so harmoniously. At the same time, an up-and-coming actress, Lois, played by Kelly Slodin, and another actor in the production, Bill, played by Jon Young, develop their own kind of relationship.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. They go on sale at 6:30 p.m. each night. Beth Breiland is the director, with Megan Dimich as vocal music director, and Jeff Gottwig as instrumental director.
