Firefighters called to early-morning blaze
A lightning strike may have been the cause of an early-morning fire that did significant damage to a vacant Empire Township home June 21.
A neighbor reported smoke coming from the Biscayne Avenue home just before 7 a.m. Friday. There were visible flames when a Dakota County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the call and Farmington firefighters confirmed the fire when they arrived.
Farmington Fire captain Adam Fischer said the fire was challenging to fight.
