Girls golf: Golfers turn in their best score
Farmington's girls golf team finished seventh out of eight teams Monday at a Missota Conference meet in Northfield and put up its best score in a couple of years in the process.
According to Tiger coach Rob Carpentier, the team had a very good showing, shooting 420 in the meet.
Freshman Bri Swenson shot a 98 in Northfield, which is the first time this season a member of Farmington's squad has shot under 100, according to Carpentier.
Also turning in solid rounds for the Tigers were Terra Klima, a senior, who shot a 102, and Mia Johnston, who shot a 104. Megan Elliott was Farmington's next finisher, with a score of 116.
The team score of 420 tied Farmington's lowest score for the past two years, and was a major step forward as the team prepares for the post-season.
