Girls golf: Klima's 95 leads team at Faribault
Farmington's girls golf team finished last at Saturday's Faribault Invite at Legacy Golf Course with a team score of 427.
New Prague won the meet with a score of 327. The Trojans were led by medalist Steffi Nelson, who fired a round of 70.
Terra Klima led the Tigers with a 95. Teammate Alexia Rains was four strokes back with a round of 99, then there was an 18-stroke drop-off to No. 3 golfer Alexis House's 117. Megan Elliott rounded out the top four with a 122.
Also carding varsity rounds were Brianna Swenson (124), who led Farmington at its first meet of the season with a 103 last Tuesday at Emerald Greens, and Annie Grengs (134).
"We finished in last, which is a bummer because we started well, but the good news is that one of our top golfers wasn't there and we still shaved 43 strokes off our score from earlier in the week," first-year coach Rob Carpentier said.
The Tigers played again Wednesday at Lakeville South. They are home for their next two meets, starting with this afternoon's Missota Conference meet at Fountain Valley Golf Course.
