Girls golf: Rains shoots 96 at Missota meet

A season-best team score wasn't enough to get the Farmington girls golf team out of last place at Monday's Missota Conference Championships at Crow River Country Club.

The Tigers cut 66 strokes off their first team score of the year to finish with a combined 404 from their top four varsity golfers. New Prague claimed the girls championship, led by conference player of the year Stef Neisen.

The Tigers were led by Alexia Rains, who carded an 18-hole round of 96. Terra Klima was four strokes back with an even 100 and Brianna Swenson carded a 103. Mia Johnston rounded out the counting scores with a 105.

The Tigers close out the year at the Section 1AAA Meet, which gets underway next Tuesday at Cannon Falls Golf Course.
