Girls golf: Swenson advances to second day of section tournament
The Farmington girls golf team sent one player to the second day of last week's section tournament.
Junior Brianna Swenson shot a 107 both days of the tournament to finish with a 214.
As a team, the Tigers finished 11th out of 12 teams on the first day of play with a 474.
Red Wing won the section tournament with a two-day total of 698. Red Wing was second at 721 and Rochester Mayo was third at 730.
Freshman Sidney Comes shot a 120 for the Tigers. Sophomore Halea Wright shot a 122, senior Alexis House had a 125 and sophomore Kaitlin Jokinen had a 128 to round out Farmington's scoring. Freshman Brooke McConnell withdrew after nine holes.
"We are looking ahead to next year," coach Jon Stock said. "We are hoping for better weather."
