Girls golf: Swenson advances to second round
Team leader Brianna Swenson was the only member of the Farmington High School girls golf team to advance in the Section tournament.
The Tigers travelled to Cannon Falls May 31 for the first round of section play. As a team, Farmington did not advance in the section competition, having come in 11th place out of 12 teams. Red Wing led with a team score of 326; Farmington's team score was 460.
Swenson, a sophomore, led the Tigers with a score of 98. With that, Swenson tied for 10th place, and advanced to the second round of section competition, which was held Monday. Results of Monday's meet were not available at press time.
Freshman Halea Wright earned her personal best score with 117. Other scores for the team include senior Megan , 119; junior Alexis , 126; and freshman Kaitlin Jokenin, 137.
