Girls golf: Swenson’s 99 paces Tigers at Faribault

The Farmington girls golf team finally made its outdoor debut Friday at the Faribault Invitational.

The Tigers sent five golfers and finished 10th in the 11-team field with a score of 489 at Faribault Golf Club.

New Prague outshot runner-up Benilde St. Margaret’s 337-372 for meet championship.

Senior Brianna Swenson paced the Tigers with an 18-hole round of 99. Emma Sullivan finished second for the team with a round of 126, followed by Sidney Comes with a 128, and Abby Monroe and Amanda Hansmann with matching rounds of 136.

The Tigers begin Missota Conference play Wednesday at Stonebrooke Golf Club in Shakopee.
