Third-ranked (Class 1A) Red Wing did some damage in the second period of last Thursday’s game at Prairie Island Arena.Farmington senior captain Breanna Raske had an assist in last Tuesday’s win.

The Wingers scored five goals on 12 shots and went on to their fourth straight win, 6-2 over visiting Farmington. Three of those goals came via the power play as the Tigers committed seven penalties.

Madeline Oines and Ellie Moser each scored goals for the Tigers, who entered on a four-game winning streak of their own.

Goaltender Molly Singewald stopped 19 Red Wing shots.

The Tigers were coming off a 3-2 overtime victory the previous Tuesday against an Owatonna team that brought a 12-6 record to Schmitz-Maki Arena.

Scootie Donnelly provided the game-winning goal at the 2:38 mark of the overtime period. Megan Stivers scored the team’s first two goals, scoring on an assist from Breanna Raske to make it 1-0 in the first and netting a power-play goal on a pass from Brooke Raske to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the third.

Owatonna forced overtime with a goal at the 16:50 mark of the third period.

Singewald went all 53-plus minutes and stopped 17 Owatonna shots.

The Tigers (11-11-1) traveled to New Prague on Tuesday and close out the regular season on the road at Holy Angels Saturday in Richfield.
