Girls soccer: Panthers once again prevail over Tigers
For the second straight year, the Lakeville North girls soccer team shut out Farmington in the Section 1AA championship game.
The ninth-ranked Panthers took the lead on a penalty kick midway through the first half and advanced to their third straight state tournament with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers last Tuesday in Lakeville.
It remained a one-goal game until North added a second score with six minutes to go. Farmington keeper Ashley Becker finished with 13 saves.
The Panthers have now outscored their nine opponents a combined 33-0 in the last three Section 1AA tournaments.
The Tigers finished with a record of 10-5-4 and placed third in the Missota Conference.
