Girls soccer: Tigers earn No. 3 seed, open 1AA play Thursday

The Farmington girls soccer team capped off an 8-4-4 regular season and a third-place finish in the Missota Conference with a 1-0 shutout of Shakopee last Thursday at Tiger Stadium.

The Tigers finished 5-2 in the league, with their two losses coming to first-place Holy Angels and second-place Chaska. The team earned the No. 3 seed in the Section 1AA tournament and hosts sixth-seeded Rochester Century in the opening round Thursday at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. The top two seeds went to Lakeville North and Lakeville South, respectively.
