Gymastics: Tigers take third in Missota

The Farmington gymnastics team broke 140 points for the second time in a row while placing third out of five teams at Friday night's Missota Conference Championships in Northfield.

Defending state champion Northfield won with 150.6 points, followed by New Prague at 146.15 and Farmington at 140.95.

Nadia Lorencz broke FHS coach Lynn Bauman's 2`1-year-old school record in the floor exercise with a first-place score of 9.8. Lorencz also placed in a tie for first in the vault with a score of 9.575 and sixth in the bars at 9.175.

Kiana Lord added a second-place 9.625 in the floor exercise and an eighth-place 9.175 in the vault and Kylie Wharton placed eighth in the floor exercise. The Tigers will compete for spots in the state meet tonight when they compete in the Section 3AA Championships at Cottage Grove.
