An observant off-duty police officer and a driver who was behind the wheel when he shouldn't have been have led to felony drug charges against a 36-year-old Lakeville man who chose the wrong car to ride in.

The off-duty officer spotted the ineligible driver Sept. 12 while stopped a gas station in the city. The officer knew the individual's license had been canceled and called an on-duty officer to respond.
