Letter to the editor: Post office food drive supports local families
To the editor,
Saturday, May 12 is the 20th anniversary of the National Association of Letter Carriers annual "Stamp out Hunger" food drive.
Each year, the second Saturday in May is a day when local residents have an opportunity to easily donate food to needy families in the Farmington area. The local Farmington Post office employees will pick up non-perishable food donations at each postal address they deliver to. This food drive is the largest one-day food-collection event in the nation.
All food collected this weekend will be delivered to the Farmington Food Shelf to support local Farmington families in need.
The Farmington Food Shelf and 360 Communities would like to thank the local Farmington Post Office employees and the community of Farmington for caring for their neighbors.
