Letter: How can board justify raise?

To the editor,

How is it possible or prudent for the school board of District 192 to vote an increase of 7.5 percent and extension of the current superintendent's contract with added benefits in view of the local economic climate?

So why was it so-called "necessary" to have recently hired an assistant to help out if our superintendent was doing such a fine job?

Thank God that some of the present school board members will no longer be seated after year's end.
