Letter: Police need help with dangerous animals

To the editor,

When did the Farmington Police Department cut funds for animal control?

We had two Rotweilers running through our neighborhood. These two dogs were hungry, thirsty and confused which can add up to a dangerous situation with any dog breed. We managed to get them in a contained area until help arrived.

It took four very brave officers to get the dogs out to their cars. It's enough that these officers have to deal with badly behaving citizens, but they shouldn't have to also try to deal with the dogs.

Although these officers did very well considering the dangerous situation they put themselves into, this needs to be done by trained professionals. Please put money back into the budget for these special instances. Thank you very much Farmington Police officers.
