While Rochester Century was pulling away for another Section 1AA team championship, Farmington put a stronghold on second place and qualified six events for next week's Class 2A State Meet Saturday at the Rochester Rec Center.

The Tigers scored 322 points, 75 off the pace set by the Panthers.

Senior Tyler Magalis punched his state ticket by breaking own school record in the one-meter dive with a score of 496.45. Magalis, Allen Berg, Brian Huls, Christopher Kirchmann, Loren Hatten and Zach Holton also helped the team qualify for state in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

Farmington's coaches also received honors. Head coach Ryan Hamen was named Section 1AA Coach of the Year and Gregg Rappe was named Section 1AA Diving Coach of the Year.

The Class 2A State Meet gets underway Thursday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center in Minneapolis.
