Betzold doubled with two outs in the first inning and Rice followed with an opposite-field home run that gave the Tigers all the runs they would need.

Rice and Toni Hunsinger each added RBI singles in the fifth to make it 4-0 and Betzold smashed her third hit of the game over the left field wall in the sixth to make it 5-0.

Betzold allowed just three hits and struck out five as she improved her mound record to 17-4.

The Tigers will open Class 3A State Tournament play against Section 4 champion Stillwater (18-8) at 9 a.m. next Thursday at Caswell Park in Mankato.
