Change can either be a good thing, or a bad thing. Life teaches you that. If life is throwing you some hard obstacles, it can be hard to decide what to do. For example, if you know you should study for a test but you also want to hang out with your friends.

On the other hand, some kinds of change can be not so good. For example, if you made your varsity sports team one year, and got surpassed by another person and moved down to JV the next year, you might be disappointed about that change. When things like that happen, I tell myself and my friends that everything happened for a reason and it is all going to lead up to something great.

A good change that has recently occurred is the change in weather. The snow is melting and the sun is beginning to shine. I was pretty happy about that. The birds are also starting to chirp in the mornings, which is another change I was glad for. When I started thinking about how things have changed, I thought about how much the school has changed. One big change for freshman is that they are in a completely new school, with different schedules, different teachers and many different classmates as well.

Even if you're not a freshman in the high school, there are still plenty of changes, some good and some bad, that have occurred. A pretty big example of this is the Farmington School District provided iPads for all students. Last year, we were all taking tests on paper, having to bring many homework sheets home from, and having to carry around a pencil all day long. Now with our iPads, we are able to take our tests electronically, have our homework literally in our hands all in one place on the iPads, and at the most have to carry around a stylus to each class. This is an example of a good change that has occurred in our school.

If you ask a bunch of students from our school, they will all tell you that one not-so-good change is the school lunches. We students are appreciative of all staff and the school lunch that is provided, but this year the portions are much smaller and the food doesn't taste as good. This change happened because people are trying to attack obesity and make us healthier. While it is a great idea, the students at our school are used to the lunches that we used to have that didn't follow the new healthy guidelines and prefer those lunches.

Change can either be a good or bad thing, but whatever change is happening to your life right now, just remember it all is going to end up being great.
