The host Lakers dominated the nine-team get-together with 502 ½ points. The Tigers topped the rest of the field with 375 points, over 85 more than third-place Shakopee.

“We had a pretty good meet,” Farmington coach Ryan Hamen said. “We achieved a lot of personal-best times.”

Farmington earned runner-up finishes in four of the meet’s 12 events, the first coming in the 1-meter dive where Jonathan Bovee scored 265.35 points. An event later, Brandon Dion took runner-up honors in the 100 butterfly with a clocking of 56.28 seconds. Dion closed out the meet by combining with Eric Schimmel, Dan Berg and Garrett Haugen on a second-place swim in the 400 freestyle relay.

Austin Kueck also supplied a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle where he finished in 5:20.18. Kueck cracked the top five in the 200 IM, as well, where he came in fourth in 2:13.49. Teammates Dion and Haugen placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in the event.

Kueck, Dion, Spencer Kabran and Adam Dougherty opened the meet by placing fourth in the 200 medley relay.

Kabran went on to snag two top-10 individual finishes, taking fifth in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 100 butterfly. Berg matched the feat, placing fourth in the 100 freestyle and eighth in the 200 freestyle, as did Schimmel, who was fifth in the 50 freestyle and eighth in the 500 freestyle.

Three Tiger swimmers placed in the 100 backstroke where Ben Gunderson, Haugen and Bovee turned in a 5-8-10 finish.

Dougherty and Jon Kingsbury placed 7-8 in the 50 freestyle, Ian Alexander was ninth in the 500 freestyle and Robin DeCastro came in 10th in the 200 IM.
