Farmington's girls tennis team finished the 2010 season winless at 0-7 in the Missota Conference and 0-13 overall, but coach Jack Owell still saw improvement from his team throughout the season.

"We improved greatly from the start of the season through the finish. Even though we got steamrolled by Century in both the team and individuals, most of our players hit their peak during that competition," he said. "I was most pleased that our kids' efforts did not flag during the losing streak. It has been said that character is best defined as the willingness to fulfill a commitment after the desire has faded. I don't know if the desire diminished but their level of effort did not."

Varsity letters were awarded to seniors Danielle Froehling, Lucy Gentilini, Mila Jacobson, Brianna Kashak, Sam Leighton and Emilee Shearer; juniors Jessica Autey, Katie Burgess, Meghan Lindstrom, Rachel Molitor and Maggie Rudorfer; sophomore Melanie Kappes; and freshman Megan Stivers.

Player of the Year went to Lindstrom, who had the best record on the team, and MVP went to Rudorfer, who also earned all-conference honorable mention honors.

Team captains were Froehling, Kashak and Shearer.
