All four of Farmington's entrants were knocked out in the first round of the Section 1AA individual tennis tournament last week.

Jake Bauer put up a fight in his singles match, falling 7-5, 6-7, 6-2 in a three-hour affair.

"The match was there for the taking," Farmington coach Jack Olwell said. "It was a battle of attrition more or less with a healthy number of unforced errors."

Bennett Lagro was dealt a 6-4, 6-2 loss in his first-round singles match.

"Bennett was very disappointed as he had many opportunities to take control against a solid opponent," Olwell said.

In the doubles portion of the tournament, Austin Tremmel and Trent Kertsenbusch lost 1-6, 0-6 to Owatonna's top team and Austin Rau and Grady Hauswirth lost 0-6, 0-6 to the top duo from Red Wing.
