Three defend Farmington's Dew Run titles
Three of last year’s four first-place finishers defended their titles at Saturday morning’s 34th-annual Dew Run.<p>
Hyytinen’s teammate Adam Wallenta was the next highest local finisher with a 12th-place time of 24:22.<p>
A new champion was crowned in the women’s portion of the race. Janet Smith of Dundas bested the field with a four-mile time of 26:58. She was first out of 173 women in the racer and 32nd out of 353 runners overall.<p>
Christine Cahill of Plymouth was second in the women’s race and former FHS runner Bailey Opsal was third in 27:31. Current Tiger Maricia Pacheco followed up her second straight first-place finish in the one-mile run (5:51) with a fourth-place showing in the four-mile race (27:36).<p>
Kim Ralidak of Farmington was second in the women’s mile in 6:09, followed by Kelly Ramacier of White Bear Lake in third and former FHS volleyball and basketball standout Kirstee Rotty in fourth (6:40).<p>
In the men’s one-mile, Lance Elliott of Edina defended his title with a time of 4:37. Liam Tyler of Apple Valley, Brett Heimstead of Kenosha, Grant Udelhofen and Luke Tansey of Apple Valley rounded out the top five.<p?
Tyler Lerbakken, who recently helped the Tiger track team to a couple of all-state relay finishes at the state track meet, placed sixth in 5:00.<p>
Ideal running conditions resulted in a record 558 entrants in the one- and four-mile races through the streets of Farmington.
