Toys for Town drive is under way

The 2010 Toys for Town drive is under way.

As of Nov. 17, the Farmington Police Department had already collected the names of children from 28 Farmington families who need a little help this holiday season. Last year, nearly 250 kids from approximately 100 families received gifts through the Toys for Town gift drive.

Collection boxes have been set up at several locations around Farmington:

Anchor Bank, Boeckman Middle School, Castle Rock Bank, Farmington City Hall, CVS Pharmacy, Dodge Middle School, EconoFoods, Farmington Food Shelf, Farmington Lanes, Farmington High School, Dakota County Library in Farmington, Pilot Knob Pizzeria, Farmington Police Department, Rising Stars, Roundbank and Tan Ambitions.

Financial contributions can be delivered to the Farmington Police Department.

Wrapping and distribution for the 2010 drive will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at Boeckman Middle School.

For more information or to add a family to this year's distribution list, call the Farmington Police Department at 651-280-6700.
