U.S Air Force Band concert
The United States Air Force Band will perform at 7 p.m. April 27 at Farmington High School, 800 Denmark Ave. Admission is free. For tickets call Farmington Community Education at 651-460-3200. Tickets are also available at the Farmington Independent.
Guitar Hero at the library
The Dakota County Fairgrounds invites teens to visit the library from 3 to 5 p.m. April 27 to play Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution on the big screen in the meeting room.
The library is located at 508 Third St.
Applause Community Theater will hold auditions for its summer show, "The Wizard of Oz," from 6 to 9 p.m. April 27 and 28 at the Lakeville Arts Center. For more go to applausecommunitytheater.com.
The Emannuel Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 28 at Faith United Methodist Church. Visitors are welcome.
The Farmington High School German club will present the Bavarian Musikmeisters at 7:30 p.m. April 30 at the FHS auditorium. For more information or to buy tickets call 651-460-1498. Tickets will also be available at the door. Proceeds will support FHS students on a trip to Germany.
Grand Hall grand opening
There will be a May Day grand opening starting at 2:30 p.m. May 1 at the studio, located on the second floor of the Exchange Bank building. There will be May Day basket making starting at 2:30 and a ribbon cutting at 4:30.
The studio is located at the corner of Third and Oak streets.
Friends of the Mississippi River will hold a cleanup event along the Vermillion River from 9 to 11 a.m. May 2 starting at Rambling River Park. Supplies are provided, as is a pizza lunch. Participation requires pre-registration by April 29 by phone at 651-222-2193 x23 or e-mail at email@example.com.
Minnesota Whips and Wheels will bring its first Prairie Home Carriage Festival to the Dakota City Heritage Village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 3. Anyone with a Victorian-era vehicle can display it. There will be a parade at 1 p.m. Only Whips and Wheels members can participate in the parade.
The event is free and open to the public.
Faith United Methodist Church will present Music Sunday at 10:30 a.m. May 17. There will be choir, piano, chimes, children singing and violin music.
The church is located at 710 Eighth St.
